"Without words, without writing and without books there would be no history, there could be no concept of humanity." -Hermann Hesse
Hi! My name is Emily Warren.
I am originally from North Carolina, not too far from Wilmington. Academics, family, college tennis, and history
brought me to the Port City in 2010. I attended college at UNC Wilmington where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to continue my academic career as a Seahawk earning a Master of Arts in history. During the program, I was able to teach and administer grades for college classes, take graduate courses on an array of history topics, and spend lots of time in the archives writing my thesis.
My love for learning and deep immersion in history ultimately led me to my passion for teaching and enrollment in the MAT program at the Watson College of Education, I received a second Masters degree in teaching with a concentration in social studies that included an internship in New Hanover County Schools.
Now, I am teaching at Ashley High School and I am so happy to have you in my class this semester. I look forward to continuing my journey in academia with each of you.
Welcome to the fascinating world of history!
